STONEFIELD - 2013 - 2016 (2 ALBUMS)

C'MON - This debut album by the female Australian Rock quartet opens with a sassy bluesy style Progressive Rock sound.  It is a blistering opener with powerful vocals and crashing guitars and drums reminiscent of the late 60s, early 70s vibe.

LOVE YOU DESERVE - This track has a distinct Classic Rock vibe with a hint of Glam Rock.  Another superb track that is akin to an accomplished band of many years but for this young band its incredible.

PUT YOUR CURSE ON ME - This Led Zeppelin style track packs a punch with some awesome guitars.  Another gem.

OVER AND OVER - A cool, lid back, sleazy backing gives an almost Blues edge to this Classic Rock track.  A favourite of mine.

TO THE MOUNTAINS - The first track that has a Pop Rock style and its another slice of mature Rock by the girls.  Its a radio friendly track in the vein of Pat Benatar.  Class.

DIGGIN' MY WAY OUT - A genre mix of Goth, Progressive and Psychedelic Rock.  Pounding drums, eerie vocals and atmospheric crashes of guitars.

HOUSE OF THE LONELY - Straight up Pop Rock with a booming chorus and a relentless guitar led backing track.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN - An anthemic Rock ballad with some searing guitars and sprinkled with softer moments.  Could be Stonefield's "November Rain".  Awesome.

BABY BLUE - Minimal backing compared to the previous tracks, lyrically not as expansive as other tracks but even the repetitive chorus doesn't detract from a sleazy rocky number that still hits home.

KEEP ON ROLLIN' - The final track of a fine debut album gives us the first vocal-led track where Amy (I think) gives a powerful and emotive vocal over a limited keyboard backing.  Really lovely song.

SISTER - The Aussie foursome of sisters Amy, Hannah, Holly and Sarah open up their second album with a bang.  It's an almost Gothic Progressive Rock track with its dark undertones and moody effects. Hannah does her best Ozzy doom and gloom vocals to good effect.

DREAM - Ironically this has a dreamy kind of vibe going on.  Its a 70s Psychedelic Rock ride with elements of 90s Grunge.

CHANGES - Love this track, it reminds me of Bangles with some great melodious riffs and sultry Susannah Hoffs-like vocals.  Great Pop Rock with some slightly heavier moments hidden in the track especially towards the end.  Super track and shows the girls' growing maturity and musical knowledge.

LOVE - Another Bangles-type track, but a little more mellow than the previous track.  Really nice song and some pure guitar! The interplay between the guitar and keyboards is rather beautiful.

STRANGER - Classic Rock track reminiscent of early Heart.  Rock genres combine, a little Classic, a little Progressive and a little Heavy.  An awesome  track.

EYES - The girls have mastered the art of merging sounds, the keyboards section around the 3 minute minute is pure 60s inspired Psychedelic Rock flower power style.  The rest of the track is Progressive and Classic Rock intertwined.  Class.

HIGHER - This track reminds me of early Berlin, making that crossover between Pop and Hard Rock, another gem.

MIDNIGHT - A Dream Pop style song akin to a Sc-Fi movie backdrop.  Its a laid back, easy listening song that gives you an image of some space age future. Nice.

LONELY - A quite moody but somehow emotional and uplifting track with its core backing music very Middle Eastern or Asian.  A really great, mature Rock ballad.

EAGLE - An effects laden, mysterious, eerie track to finish.  It is veru medieval to start and dreamy and then turns into something quite dark and gothic.  The girls are not afraid to experiment and test their skills so as not to be a one trick pony.  Great sequel to "Stonefield" the debut album.
